Pain, Challenge, and My First Published Book!!

Published 11 months ago • 2 min read

Happy June, Reader !

I know last month I promised news about baby in this month's message but I decided to write this up before she came so I wouldn't forget. She decided to hold out on us past the due date but God's timing is always perfect and things are getting exciting. Maybe I will have to write a special midmonth update this month with actual baby news!

But, a different baby did come this month!

I know its odd to think of projects as babies but in a sense they totally are: a long gestational period, tons of love, care and attention, a hard push to finish at the end and then, sheer bliss, beauty, and exhilaration (along with a whole new workload) come as the cherry on top.

This month's project...

...is another retreat I was blessed enough to put on in person here just as Lent was coming to a close and I adapted it for personal use and to be able to present here. I got the first published copy in the mail only yesterday so I am excited to announce that for this retreat you will be able to purchase hard, or e-copies of the work. It is a retreat designed to help women and mothers, particularly Catholics, develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for the inevitable challenges and crosses in our lives as well as a practical way to approach them from this new perspective.

I love that this retreat is particularly appropriate right now in this month that the world is trying to steal away from the Sacred Heart. For centuries June has been the month in which we contemplate the great intensity and the ardor of the love of His Heart for us, and the enemy has made it his mission to celebrate confusion and chaos instead. It may look from the outset that he is winning even in "christian" circles, but we know that in the end the enemy can never win. The patient humility of the Sacred Heart will always triumph. Let us take back His place of honor. Forget all the sociopolitcal agendas that are determined to undermine the very foundations of personhood and remind ourselves of why we exist in the first place.

This month, I invite you to take one day away, and spend time with these 3 simple reflections, to remind yourself who you are and what you were made for, the capacity of the heart you were given from before you were born, and what it takes to realize your potential.

Oh, Jesus, meek, humble, and ARDENT of heart,

make my heart like unto Thine.

AMEN.

As a big thank you for being here and as my June Gift to you, I am offering the e-version of this beautiful book for 2/3 off the list price! I have also included the link to purchase a hard copy direct from the publisher if you prefer that style instead.

But maybe right now you aren't ready for another product.

I have begun to actually get my series out there this month on the same topic. Feel free to start there:

Yes, the list is short still but I have several more in the works (as always). Feel free to start above but keep an eye out for the new arrivals!

For me this has been the year of projects. I have to get my offerings in place so that I can then use my time to promote them and grow my audience. Ideally I would be able to do both of these things at the same time but in my current season I can only handle one... so project creation it is! Especially since the Holy Spirit has been on fire lately and so very generous over here.

Thank you so much for your prayers this month and I will write again with baby news in the near future.

May God richly bless you and yours as always.

This labor and delivery will be offered for you.

<3,

Happy May! The month of mothers and flowers and springtime! I hope you are looking forward to it :) For me it has always been a controversial month... the month where I should be joyful but really I'm just stressed out. It's too busy. Too many expectations, too much schoolwork, and muddy laundry, and ticks.... Mother's day should be a day of celebration and gratitude and yet for me it only serves to remind me of all the ways I fall short as a mother. Nobody should have a day that celebrates...
